Pevensey Beach

Managed by:  Pevensey Parish Council, however some parts are privately owned.

Pevensey Bay has a large beach area which is shingle at high tide, but has times during the month with a large area of sand, which is ideal for walking. Sometimes the sand can be silty so care is needed.

Pevensey Skate Park

Managed by:  Pevensey Parish Council.

This is a small skate park area with limited equipment.

Facilities: 

Car Parking – Park in Pevensey Bay or Pevensey village and walk.

Children’s Play Area – Children under 16.

No Dogs allowed.

Skatepark – Small skate / half pipe ramp and a shelter.

Toilets – Nearest public toilets are in Pevensey Bay and Pevensey.

Pevensey Recreation Ground

Managed by:  Pevensey Parish Council.

This area provides children with playground facilities, including swings and a climbing frame. There is also a large area for playing ball games.

Car Parking – Car park adjacent or in Cattle Market in Pevensey village (payment required).

Children’s Play Area – Includes wooden train, climber frame igloo, balance beams wobble boards, suspended stepping logs, stepping stones, toddler swings, toddler slide/small climbing equipment, junior swings, multiply wooden slide/climbing frame.

No dogs allowed in the play area.

Picnic Area

Sports Pitches – The sports ground is leased by the Parish Council to the Pevensey & Westham Sport Club,  they run Cricket clubs in the summer and football in the winter. There is also a stoolball team.

Toilets – nearest public toilets is 300 yards in Pevensey village.

Anderida Park and Dukelands

Managed by:  Pevensey Parish Council

An ideal place for walking including with dogs. Dog waste must be picked up (bins are provided) as part of the area is also used for grazing. Dukelands leads into Anderida Park and Sports ground. The area has flora and fauna but can be wet and has Dykes and streams, with some natural woodland. Walking north will lead to Pevensey Castle, its outer perimeter and the historic villages of Pevensey and Westham. At the top of the area is Pevensey Recreation Ground.

Facilities: 

All Weather Walking Routes – Can be very wet and muddy in the winter but still used by local people to walk dogs.

Car Parking – Street parking or in car parks in Wallsend Road or Cattle Market in Pevensey ( payment required).

Interest Points – Walking by the River Haven is possible.

Multi-use Games Area – Pevensey Sports Ground is at the North end of the area. Football and cricket are played, both having a large number of children’s teams. Public use allowed, except on cricket wicket in Summer months.

Picnic Area – Benches and tables available.

Suitable for Dogs – Dogs on leads in sports ground area.

Toilets – Nearest public toilets are in Pevensey Bay and Pevensey.

Pevensey Bay Recreation Ground

Managed by: Pevensey Parish Council

This area which is 100 yards from the Beach, provides children with playground facilities, including a slide, swings, roundabout and a climbing frame. There is also a large area for playing ball games. The area also provides outdoor Gym equipment for those over 12 years of age.

Nutley Tennis and Squash Club

Managed by: Nutley Tennis & Squash Club Ltd

A friendly community-based tennis and squash club and welcome players of all ages and abilities.

Facilities:

Car Parking – Small car park accessed via Churchfield.

Sports Courts – Two tennis courts and two squash courts.

The Triangle

Youth shelter and small grass picnic area.

Facilities: 

All Weather Walking Routes – Various walking routes throughout the green space.

Benches

Café – The Triangle café and The British Queen pub are located just outside of the green space.

Interest Point – Teen shelter.

Paragon Fields

Tall grass meadows with paths and benches.

Tott Yew Recreation Ground

Managed by:  Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council

Open field with play area which was upgraded in 2016.

Huggets Lane Recreation Ground

Managed by:  Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council

Large open field with a play area. Used for sports and recreation and home to Willingdon Football and Cricket Clubs. Cricket nets are new and the pavilion was upgraded in 2018.

Facilities: 

All Weather Walking Routes – Accessible path leading from the entrance of the ground.

Benches

Car Parking – Free parking next to the grounds. Includes 15 parking spaces available and on road parking.

Children’s Play Area – For under 12’s.

Disabled Access

Information Boards – Located on wall outside park.

Picnic Area

Sports Courts – Basketball hoop.

Sports Pitches – Includes cricket pitch and both formal and informal football pitches.
